Thank you for attending SolarPunk Park's DIY workshop at SolarPunks Club!
SolarPunks EcoTeque April 8, 2023

We hope you had a great time and feel inspired to create more eco-friendly projects. Our team loved meeting each of you and getting to talk about all things art, sustainability, bees, gardening, and more. We hope to continue to have free workshops like this again soon so be on the lookout!

We're thrilled you're interested creating a community Butterfly Garden. Our team is working hard to get city approval and we'll keep you updated on our progress.

Why Start a Community Butterfly Garden?

"Insect populations have been declining for years, and world governments are finally waking up to the fact that we need to address this issue before it’s too late. The solution isn’t rocket science – if we help native insects thrive, they’ll do the pollination work for us, so other crops can grow."

― Matt Shardlow, CEO of Buglife

Community Butterfly Gardens, like the one we're planning, can be a great way to help local insect populations thrive, while beautifying the community. Butterflies are important pollinators and their populations have been declining rapidly in recent years. Join us in the effort to create a more biodiverse world!

A community butterfly garden can be a beautiful addition to any park.
Monarch butterfly populations have decreased by 90% in the last 20 years.

The Butterfly Garden will be planted at Radio Hill Gardens which is an LA site that is sadly overgrown and forgotten. The purpose of this project is for all of us to work together to take our collective vision and make it beautiful for everyone in the LA community.

In the meantime, check out all the other offerings at SolarPunk Park
